John Doe´s father walked out on him when he was nothing but a mere young child. Poor Johnny had to put up with his miserable fate and live with his grandparents, since his mom sadly passed away during labour.

His grandfather was strict, and John badly wished to live up to his high expectations, mainly because he looked up to him. And he loved his grandma, whom he got on well with, more than anything.

When John grew up to be a teenager, his father received the news of his time running out because of cancer. Even though he wished to get on good terms with his son, he knew that making everything up to him wouldn’t be a piece of cake.

But in the end, his father decided to reach out to him, despite being all too embarrassed to even try and initiate contact in the first place. He still wanted to catch up with his life as any proper father should.

And alas, when they first came face-to-face after so many years of being apart, they wasted no time going in for a warm embrace.
