"Hidden beauty in scientific research"

Big scientific projects could be directly linked not only with their usefulness for our everyday lives and advancement of our human civilisation but also with their artistic beauty which might be hidden at first sight.

1) As our first attempt we revealed the beauty behind the biggest experimental project in the history of humankind = CERN

At CERN, their mission is to unite people from all over the world to push the frontiers of science and technology, for the benefit of all.

CERN employs about 2500 people from nationalities all around the world, working in every area of the Organization, from physicists to computer scientists to chefs.

They help to uncover what the universe is made of and how it works. They do this by providing a unique range of particle accelerator facilities to researchers, to advance the boundaries of human knowledge. 

PS: We are proud to say that our students visited CERN in Switzerland in April 2019. We had the chance to discuss aspects of their research with physicists Michal Zamkovský, Michal Koval and an IT programmer Miroslav Potocký.

2) Then we searched the beauty behind the Hubble Space Telescope Mission.

The world is full of interesting, remarkable things and some people are able to see those things and are forming it into something the rest of us cannot understand, only few of us can. This kind of creation is called art.

Art is everywhere around us but also above us. In the universe. The universe is an infinite and fascinating place which is so far that most of us cannot reach it and see all that phenomenal stuff up there. That is why several big brains joined together and created a telescope that can capture a little of what we cannot see. The Hubble Telescope.

Orbiting the Earth since 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has helped to answer some of the most compelling astronomical questions of our time, and uncovered mysteries we never knew existed.

With vision that spans the ultraviolet through visible and into the near infrared, Hubble investigates everything from black holes to planets around other stars. Its unique capabilities are revolutionizing astronomy as Hubble continues humanity’s quest to explore the universe.

(3) Hidden beauty in geology

Have you ever noticed people always tend to look for something that seems pleasant to them? Why do we do that? I think that people do this to seek comfort by looking at something they like, something they find beautiful. When you think about it, it makes more sense to look at something you like rather than looking at something ugly or unpleasant.

Beauty is everywhere around us we just need to keep our eyes open. Believe it or not, even science can provide us some beauty. I don't mean just that typical “metaphorical” beauty of science, I'm talking about a literal one. Let's take gemstones for example. Of course, they are beautiful on their own, but by putting them under a microscope, you'll get a really lovely picture of what a naked eye is not capable of seeing, simply just by the help of science.
