Do you often catch yourself overwhelmed by a wave of frustration, fear and uneasiness after scrolling on Facebook or watching the news ? Yes, I am talking about fiery protruding ball, about terror that is capable of being alive in the air for several hours, about an enemy who is trying to overpower us and the whole humanity.
It was about two years ago when we were living happily, grinning ear to ear, walking in the park, on a way to the pub, to a Christmas market, to the swimming pool or to a gym. Everything was truism. People on the streets – head on head, happy meetings with a lot of acquaintances, distincive lipsticks on the faces of women. Everything was visible – whether on the surface, or radiating from within people : belonging, carefreedom, faith. We used to live like this for a long time. No one saw it coming and the turning point came. The distruption initially looked inconspicuous, but it gradually expanded his contagious tentacles.
Suddenly, we are in a different situation. Crowded streets are a thing of the past. Meetings with acquaintances were replaced by limited walks, women's distincive lipsticks began to be covered with gray-blue masks. Where did we find ourselves? Is it still us? Changed, gloomy, surrounded by menace. Well, that is still not enough for us, is it? Protests against masks, rejection of authorities, misinformation growing through the human inside, attacking critical thinking. Responsibility stood in front of us. People were divided into two groups - the repulsive and the respectful. It took a long time to find a balance between those two groups and to manage to get out of worst. We had to give up a humility and often even recognition in order to re-establish hope.
Despite the fact that we are experiencing better times at the moment, let's not forget to be responsible and receptive. Let us not forget to think of those who have been affected by the pandemic the most. So that we are not ruled by fear, but by love for our loved ones and tolerance for the unknown. All this is needed so that we can breathe freely, so that women can wear flashy lipsticks on smiling carefree lips again, so that we can share the world around us.
